(3 June 2015) We have been overwhelmed with tributes and messages about dear Dolly, our much-missed paragon who died in April at the age of 23.

Dolly (Carnaval Moon), by Carnaval Drum out of a National Hunt mare, gave dozens of riders their first experience of side-saddle, introducing Harroway clients to showing, jumping and hunting aside.

One of her last competitive outings was at last year’s Side Saddle National Championships, where she won the mature riders’ championship with Susie Flook.

Dolly was feeling bright and well until the end — so good in fact that we often had to put her in her Pelham! The yard is not the same without her kind, intelligent brown head looking out over the end box.
